Pack Size: Single Bottle

The first wine released from the Jericho vineyard in Blewitt Springs, this pretty and perfumed Grenache exemplifies why this sub region of McLaren Vale is celebrated for growing this variety. Bright red fruits, fresh cranberries and perfectly ripe cherries explode out of the glass, accompanied by an undercurrent of violet florals and warming baking spice. The palate is juicy and fresh, supported by the fine-grained tannin structure famous to Blewitt Springs Grenache. Hand harvested fruit from the middle and bottom sections of the Grenache block was fermented in open vessels which were gently plunged once a day to extract soft tannins. Pressed off after a week on skins and matured in seasoned French oak for just 6 months, this early release style is perfect long lunch drinking material. This lighter bodied style of red is well suited to spicy and fresh foods. Try traditional Moroccan chermoula roasted vegetables with chickpeas and couscous.   "Frozen mixed berries, blue, red, black. Tart, fresh element defines the forest fruit. But there’s more, it develops. Cinnamon plum, leafy freshness, twigs, violets. It’s fruity to taste at first, then with a savoury meaty finish, medium-bodied at most, tannins are fine and supportive to the fruit, on the lighter end. Well-made pleasure." Kasia Sobiesiak - The Wine Front Alc/Vol: 14.5%
