Rich black plum and blackberry fruit sourced from McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek is matured in 100% American oak, with 38% of it being new. The dense inky black color with deep dark red hue is accompanied by potent scents of liquorice and black raspberry, as well as vanillin oak and subtle hints of fennel and peppered earth. The palate is rich and textured with a thick layer of liquorice, black plum, and blackberry, while toasty vanillin oak, earth, and peppered fennel add depth to the second half. The finish is long, flamboyant, and velvety smooth with a touch of heat. Best enjoyed over the next 3-4 years.
