This Redstone is a complex Shiraz with plenty of flavor and character. But what really drew me to this wine is that latter descriptor- the character. This is not a one-dimensional fruit bomb often associated with cheaper wines. It's medium bodied and rich with dense black fruits but has a lick of savoury flavour that adds a real interest factor. Add some decanting time (1 hour please) and it becomes seamless from start to finish. The palate is bright and vibrant with some lovely fine tannin lending just the right amount of grip, displaying floral and red fruited notes, along with savoury, earthy characters. This wine is extraordinary value for money. Grab a six-pack today and drink over the next 5 years, if they last that long.
