Bundaberg Rum was established in 1888 and was created as a solution for local sugar mills to utilize the waste molasses produced once sugar had been drawn from the sugarcane. It was super heavy, so transport costs were prohibitive and it was also considered too costly to convert the molasses into feed for livestock. Bundaberg Rum Extra Smooth Red Rum is a 37% ABV Triple-Filtered Rum, that possesses distinct character driven by the use of red gum charcoal in the filtering process.
